An Autumn Team Update From Qureight

Another busy few months have flown by - here are our autumn highlights!

We started September off strong here in Cambridge, gathering the whole team in our new office space for a day of in-person meetings, learning, and getting to know our new joiners. In the evening, we took over The LAB to host our very first expert panel event. The topic for discussion was AI in drug development, and we were delighted to welcome over 50 members of the Cambridge tech ecosystem to participate, network, and enjoy a range of science-themed cocktails. Watch this space for details of our next event!

September and October were jam-packed with travel for our some of the team as the autumn events season got underway.

Muhunthan Thillai, Simon Walsh and Jessica Payne visited Vienna to attend ERS, where they connected with respiratory experts from around the globe, soaked up the latest advances in respiratory medicine, and shared Qureight’s successes in the field.

Cameron Wilson and Miguel Monteiro got to witness the beauty that is Marrakesh at the start of October for The Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI 2024), one of the leading international forums for medical image computing, computer-assisted intervention, and medical robotics. Cameron & Miguel attended the full 5 days of the conference and found these days gave invaluable insights to the world that is machine learning!

The next stop for Simon and Jessica was Athens, to attend the 22nd International Colloquium on Lung and Airway Fibrosis (ICLAF 2024). During the event, Simon chaired a successful "Artificial Intelligence Imaging Tools for ILD Prognosis and Theragnosis" session.

At the end of October, Qureight founder and CEO Muhunthan Thillai headed to Krakow in Poland, where he took part in a panel session exploring how AI is influencing pharmaceutical discovery at the 11th lsbc Central European Life Science Investment conference.

Closer to home, two members of the Qureight team completed their Mental Health First Aid training course and passed with flying colours. Congratulations to Laura Evans and Elliott Bussell, who will now be supporting our ongoing efforts to promote mental health and wellbeing within the team.

Between all of this, we have welcomed 2 new starters to the team! Deanne Vaughan as Quality Lead and Rosemary Wilson as Clinical Trials Operations Manager. We also welcomed 2 new members to our Scientific Advisory Board, Dr. Kent Yip and Dr. John Conibear. Dr. Yip is a Consultant in Clinical Oncology at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust and has experience running early-phase clinical trials. He also has an MD in Radiation Oncology from UCL. Dr. Conibear is a Consultant in Clinical Oncology at Barts Health NHS Trust with a special interest in all non-surgical breast and lung oncology treatments.

And last but not least: the Qureight website has had a glow-up! We've spent months working in collaboration with the SomX web design team to refine the design and messaging on the site. After many ideas shared and lots of creative input, the new site is a much clearer and more accurate representation of Qureight's mission and ongoing research.
