Qureight has become a member of the Open Source Imaging Consortium (OSIC), a global 501(c)(3), not-for-profit consortium that brings together radiologists, clinicians, computational scientists, industry, and patient advocacy groups to fight against idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), interstitial lung diseases (ILDs), and other respiratory illnesses. Qureight joins nearly 50 other organisations and hundreds of individuals united by a mission to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of ILD fibrosing lung disease research.
Membership of OSIC provides Qureight with access to the world’s largest and most diverse global data repository for ILDs, with more than 20,000 anonymised HRCT scans and accompanying clinical data committed from multiple institutions and databases to date. Major hospitals and academic groups from around the world have contributed to this curated body of data, which is available for commercial and academic research, making it uniquely diverse and comprehensive.
We plan to use this invaluable resource to improve and validate our existing IPF platform offering and to drive our expansion into other interstitial lung diseases.
This is a significant milestone as we work to increase the depth and breadth of our pool of quality patient data, and it comes as an addition to our existing partnerships with hospitals and academic centres in the UK and abroad.
In September, several members of the Qureight senior leadership team will be attending the 2024 OSIC Annual Member Meeting in Vienna.
About OSIC
OSIC is a global, not-for-profit cooperative effort between academia, industry and patient advocacy groups. It was established in 2019, by an international group of leading experts and advocates in the field, in the pursuit of rapid, open source advances in the fight against idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), fibrosing interstitial lung diseases (ILDs), and other respiratory diseases.
Their global OSIC Cloud Data Repository has been vetted by two global GDPR/HIPAA privacy firms, has Central IRB and multiple institution IRB approvals, and is managed in compliance with all applicable privacy laws, regulations, consents and related restrictions.
Steven Bishop, Chief Data Officer at Qureight, said:
“Data is at the heart of everything we do at Qureight, and when it comes to accessing quality, diverse, ILD data, there’s no better organisation to partner with than OSIC. Qureight is proud to be part of OSIC, and to join the members on their mission to advance digital imaging biomarkers for accurate imaging-based diagnosis, prognosis and prediction of response to therapy.”
Elizabeth Estes, OSIC Executive Director, said:
“We are thrilled that Qureight has joined OSIC and is part of our global effort to use real-world, curated data, machine learning and collaboration to fight rare lung disease. We believe that, through determination and cooperation, we can advance research and improve outcomes for the countless patients and their caregivers living with these diseases. By working together in an open source, collaborative environment, I know we can get there faster.”
